Cooling system done
by MattG on May.20, 2009, under General Build
ok my last part of the cooling system arrived today , so rad is all plumbed in and full of water (no leaks yet , will see once its got hot )

fitted my turbo oil feed pipe :

not 100% happy with routing , but will do for now to start her up.
plumbed in the clutch resivour :

i used silicon pipe
who thinks brake fluid will do nasty things to it ?
i have left a small piece of silicon in some fluid , will have a look in the morning
i bought a res of a bike ,its small .. but only has to feed the clutch ??

I also got the throttle cable in , its all fitted .. just need a nipple
of some kind to clamp the cable to the pedal.
also nearly done on the turbo oil outlet pipe to sump … maybe tommorow …

width="480" height="320" />
back of car , under floor :
Only a small silencer .. will see how loud it is later
up and over the rear beam axle :
and then , splits to go out each side

not sure what people think of it ? wanted to be a bit different .. (waits till someone shows it done before ) you can get a better look on sunday
Steering Column
by MattG on May.14, 2009, under General Build
made some support brackets for the corsa steering column , welded to dash bar :
Column in place :
that took longer than i thought .. and still needs more work , but will do for L2B …. now i got to get on an finish that exhaust ….

nearly got all my radiator hoses , waiting on a few bits , might need to mod the thermostat housing , or find a different bend one day , as its tight on the IC pipe work :
but will do for now … my ebay bucket seat mounts would not really fit in the mini , so had to make my own mounts , not pretty but should work , seat could only really go in one position due to its width , and the rear suspension setup.
you can see that i cut into the box section , will fill that in with some sheet. next is to mount the corsa steering column so i can really pretend to drive ! fitted engine earth strap , fitted some vacum hose up to dump valve and waste gate ( not to the same place ) will try and throw the dash in for the weekend , must do some more welding on rear end as well. not sure if it will be running for L2B , as i still need an adaptor for the oil feed. and still have rear exhaust section to make (which i have done some on , but no pics yet )

this turbo oil feed , causes me so many headaches … could not find a fitting to fit turbo to oil feed, so had to make one out of another fitting :
we shall see if it leaks later … used my TIG on it. Just waiting on fitting to go into the block then it can be connected up :
Clutch master arrived , so modded it with a mini end , and made up a braided hose for it :
Fitted, anyone know what size thread the resivour port would be ? its a little bigger than the outlet …??:
and it connected to slave :
a little messy with fittings , but did not quite have the correct one, will change it one day …lol shocks fitted :
And made one bracket for the header tank :
not all my bits have arrived … see what turns up tommorow…

,i might tart it up a bit with mesh or somthing but dont car for now
also re-fitted down pipe , and made bracket to mount to rear of block, as its quite heavy
Just waiting on radiator pipes to turn up

my good friend Jim welded up my honda rad , and turned it into a vauxhall rad
moved fitting around to the side :
welded in fitting for the vauxhall fan switch :
also i bought his old TIG plant , and did my first ever TIG weld , welded in the O2 bung into the down pipe :
not bad for my first attempt , need to feed in a bit quicker in parts … but should not come off.
